On May 31, the "Symposium on the Real-World Study Protocol for Baoji Oral Liquid in the Treatment of Dampness-Turbidity Obstructing the Middle Jiao Syndrome in Research-Oriented Pharmacies" was successfully held in Tianjin. More than 20 participants attended the meeting, including Tang Xudong, Academician (Member of the Academic Division) and Chief Researcher at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences; Professor Zhang Junhua, Vice President of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Dai Cheng, Vice President of Guangzhou Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; Cheng Mou, Vice President of Minet; and Zhuo Jingxian and Wu Yanmei, Deputy General Managers of Guangzhou Evidence-Based Medicine Technology Co., Ltd.

This meeting leveraged the innovative model of research-oriented pharmacies as its vehicle, aiming to systematically validate the clinical value of Baoji Oral Liquid and clarify its product positioning through a large-scale, multi-center, prospective real-world study. The findings are intended to provide high-quality evidence-based support for Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical's strategy of expanding its "Southern TCM brands to the North," and to elevate this century-old formula into a billion-yuan-level blockbuster TCM product.

Authoritative Leadership: Pioneering a New Scenario for Real-World Research

Professor Zhang Junhua, Vice President of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, stated in his opening remarks that the research paradigm for TCM is shifting from "confirming value" to "discovering value." Research-oriented pharmacies, as a novel decentralized real-world research setting, can closely mirror patients' actual medication environments, precisely identify clinical benefits, and lay a solid foundation for high-quality evidence-based TCM research.

Supporting the "Southern TCM to the North" Strategy: Driving National Expansion with High-Quality Evidence

Dai Cheng, Vice President of Guangzhou Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., noted at the meeting that Baoji Oral Liquid, as a century-old classic formula, has long relied on pharmacies as its primary sales channel in the Guangdong and Guangxi regions—making it a perfect fit for the research-oriented pharmacy model. The company hopes that this study will establish a differentiated product positioning and patient profile, injecting academic momentum into its nationwide commercialization efforts.

Guangzhou EBM will continue to leverage its expertise in clinical research design and operational management, working closely with all partners to ensure the project's high-standard implementation. By generating high-quality real-world evidence, we aim to strengthen the product's academic foundation and help this century-old Southern TCM formula benefit more patients across the country.
